Dance is the sky is a large digital art composition of a true 11x11K (116 MP) size and the first image in the HyperPixel format to be released on ArtStation. Qualified as a HyperPixel, the image has an ultra high resolution while featuring beautiful fine detail as a result of progressive upscaling, enhancement and meticulous manual inpainting using state of the art tools of the Stable Diffusion technology. The product images include 3 ‘pixel morsels’, stylishly cut out fragments of the master image meant to show the texture and intricate detail of this creation at the 1:1 scale.
what it is for
The main image does not have any other utility than to be enjoyed as a modern digital art piece. It is not intended to be used as a screen wallpaper (although you could use it that way if you like), or a reference, or an illustration. It is to be used more or less like large paintings of old masters were used: to be viewed at a distance, then studied up close in detail, marveling at the beauty of the fine detail and the brushstrokes - only the canvas is now your gorgeous LED screen, with brushstrokes composed of self-illuminating pixel patterns. Such is the unique richness of detail in this HyperPixel creation that, each time you pan or zoom somewhere in the image, you may discover something new, glimpse a nuance not seen before. With the size this large, and detail this dense, this image is an invitation to an endless visual discovery.
inspiration source and brief history of the concept
This digital artwork is the central piece of The sensual cosmology image suite. It is a composition of multiple singular images brought together in a honeycomb-like construct using an AI-assisted image editing tool. Like other creations in the suite, it is based on imagery that features a female form fused with fractal patterns (all those intricate, swirling multicolored strands), a combination which, in my mind, can - if done well - elevate both components into an even more beautiful whole. This kind of digital fusion and beauty amplification is something I have been pursuing ever since I began working with fractals and in digital art in general (which was in the mid-1990s). I feel that the modern AI imaging tools gave me incomparably more powerful and sophisticated means to achieve the goal than any Photoshop or a fractal generator ever could.
the tools used
The presented artwork is a result of 2 year-spanning multi-stage development done using a range of state of the art AI-imaging platforms and tools, including but not limited to: MS Image Creator, Leonardo.ai’s Canvas, Krita, an advanced digital art creation and image editing software, and its Krita AI Diffusion Hires extension.
image format and preview options
The main image is of the 10800x10800 resolution; for the uncompromised quality, it is served in the lossless PNG format. A preview version is also available in the Encore Art AI portfolio feed.

This digital artwork is a composition of multiple singular images generated 2 years ago (Oct 2023) from the same prompt using the DALL-E 2-based Image Creator, brought later on together in a honeycomb-like construct using Leonardo.ai’s Canvas editor and the process called outpainting. Upgrading the image to the present 11K resolution and the fine HyperPixel-level detail quality was done in October-November 2025 with Krita, an advanced digital art creation and image editing software, and its Krita AI Diffusion extension. The last enhancement stage involved using Krita AI Diffusion Hires with the DreamshaperXL model engaged in the img2img mode, finalized with extensive retouching via manual inpainting.
